Walk with us on May 6 as we honor the memory of our loved ones. Our 7th annual Walk to Remember is a 4.5 mile walk around Rice Lake in Maple Grove and includes photo remembrance signs along the path and activities for kids.

After registration and check-in at 9:00 am and a brief remembrance gathering at 10:00 am, the walk will begin at 10:30 am. Pre-registration is $25 ( children 11 years and under is $20) and includes a t-shirt and a boxed lunch. Same day registration is $30 (children 11 years and under is $25) and t-shirt and lunch are not guaranteed.

If you are interested in helping but can't attend meetings, please let us know at secretary@friendsoftheangel.org. We need around 100 volunteers the day of the event!

UPDATE: Online registration is now available closed. Please visit the same-day registration tent starting at 9:00 a.m. on May 6th at the Arboretum. Same day registrants will not be guaranteed a T-shirt and/or lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can/can't I bring to the event?
We encourage you to leave your pets at home. You may bring your own water or take advantage of our water stations along the route. Due to limited seating, we'd also encourage you to bring a picnic blanket to eat lunch on. This is a non-smoking event.

What are my parking options at the event?
There are two lots available at the Arboretum and additional parking is available at Arbor View Early Childhood Center and the Emmanual Christian Center (northwest corner of 93rd Avenue and Fernbrook Lane). Attendants will be in place to direct traffic.

What facilities are available?
Portable restrooms will be available.

What time should I arrive for same day registration?
We encourage you to arrive by 9:00 am, but recommend registering by April 15 to guarantee a T-shirt and lunch.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It is not required.

What is the weather cancellation policy?
This is a rain or shine event.

What other activities are available?
Some activities include kids' craft table, face painting, and DJ entertainment.

Can I order a Personalized Photo Remembrance Sign?
Personalized Photo Remembrance signs are posted along the trail of the Walk to Remember and are $10 each. You can order a sign online by clicking the Register Online button above, clicking the tickets link and selecting the Personalized Photo Remembrance Sign Sponsorship.

Your sign can include one of the following: a photograph, a poem, or other artwork. Submission is due by May 1, 2017.

• Your name and your loved one’s name in the subject line.
• Digital photo/artwork of the highest possible resolution jpg format to fit an 8” X 10” space.
• Personalized Sign Information limited to 2 lines each with 25 characters max, for instance:
